Who is a worker?
The scheme covers workers in the contract cleaning industry. A worker is someone who is employed under a contract of service by an employer to perform cleaning work. A worker can be full time, part time or casual.

The scheme does not cover a person who is:
- engaged solely to supervise workers
- performing only or mainly managerial or clerical duties
- a partner in a partnership they work for
- a director of the company they work for
- a trustee of the trust they work for
- under a contract of service with a Commonwealth, State, Territory or local government authority
- directly employed by the owner of the premises they clean
