Who is a worker?
The scheme covers workers in the contract cleaning industry. A worker is someone who is employed under a contract of service by an employer to perform cleaning work. A worker can be full time, part time or casual.

Who is not covered by the scheme?
The scheme does not cover someone who is:
- engaged solely to supervise workers
- performing only or mainly managerial or administration duties
- a partner in a partnership they work for
- a director of the company they work for
- a trustee of the trust they work for
- directly employed by the owner of the premises they clean
- under a contract of service with a Commonwealth, state, territory or local government authority
- performing cleaning work on Commonwealth land or a Commonwealth place. Commonwealth places include military bases and Sydney Airport.
