A new Contract Cleaning Industry levy rate of 1.0% to apply from 1 July 2021.
On the 17 June 2021 the Minister for Better Regulation and Innovation signed an order to reduce the Contract Cleaning Industry levy from 1.7% to 1.0%, effective from 1 July 2021.
This is the first change to the levy rate since the Contract Cleaning Industry (Portable Long Service Leave Scheme) Act 2010 came into effect.
What this means for people who pay the levy.
The first return period impacted is 1 July to 30 September 2021, with returns due and levy payable in October 2021.
Amendments to the online portal will ensure the correct levy is calculated when you submit your return.
NOTE: Contract Cleaning Industry returns due in July 2021 are for the period 1 April to 30 June 2021 and attract the applicable levy rate of 1.7%.
