About the scheme

Workers who stay with one employer for many years develop a record of service with that employer and eventually if they stay long enough with that employer they will be entitled to long service leave of an amount which is defined in the Long Service Leave Act 1955.In the building and construction industry many workers do not stay with one employer long enough to be entitled to long service leave. The objective of the scheme is to record the total time worked by the registered person in the NSW building and construction industry with one or more employers or as a contractor.
