Service NSW, in partnership with Long Service Corporation (LSC), is delivering Long Service Corporation - Community Services Industry Scheme Employer Registration (the Program), on behalf of the NSW Government.
Why we collect your personal information
Service NSW is collecting your personal information for the following purposes:
- to register you as a community services industry employer with the Long Service Corporation in accordance with Section 10 of the Community Services Sector (Portable Long Service Leave) Act 2024.
- processing your application and determining your eligibility to participate in the Program
- providing you with further information about the Program
- contacting you, or another person or entity, to request/verify/confirm the information you provide in support of your application, or to process your application
- contacting you to communicate about your application or participation in the Program
- responding to and communicating about complaints and enquiries in relation to the Program, and forwarding any escalations to the Long Service Corporation
- creating a Service NSW Business Profile for you if you do not already have one
- allowing business representatives to validate their details with the Australian Business Register and establish themselves as an authority for the business in their Service NSW Business Profile (for more information see Business Relationship Proofing)
- establishing or maintaining records in your MyServiceNSW Account and Service NSW Business Profile including information about your business on a business search tool
- other directly related purposes.
We will only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to facilitate your participation in the Program or for directly related purposes.
The kinds of information we collect
When you register for the Scheme, you will be required to use or create a MyServiceNSW Account and provide the following additional details to Service NSW:
- details from proof of identity documents (such as a driver's licence, Australian passport, or Medicare card) so that we can verify your identity information with the Document Verification Service (DVS).
We may collect the following information:
- your full name, and contact details including your email address and phone number
- Australian Business Number (ABN) / Business name
- ABR data
- business address
- contact details of authorised representatives of the business.
If you provide the personal information of another person, you must obtain authorisation from that person to disclose their personal information to Service NSW for the purpose outlined in this notice.
Failure to provide information
Providing us with the requested information is not required by law. However, if you choose not to provide your information, you may not be able to be registered as an employer, and you may not be able to participate in the community services industry portable long service payment scheme.
How we may use this information
We will use personal information for the primary purpose that it was collected for. In addition, we will use this information to:
- record the information in the register of employers maintained by the Long Service Corporation in accordance with Section 10 of the Community Services Sector (Portable Long Service Leave) Act 2024
- enable us to administer the community services industry portable long service payment scheme, including sending information that we consider important, such as information relating to your long service obligations.
- enable you to lodge quarterly service returns via the Long Service Corporation online portal as required by Section 34 of the Community Services Sector (Portable Long Service Leave) Act 2024
- support more informed policy making, program management, evaluation, research and service planning as it can facilitate more efficient service delivery for the contract cleaning industry in NSW
- confirm the details you have provided if an application for payment is made under the community services industry portable long service payment scheme
- other directly related purposes.
Who we may share your information with
Your personal information will be used for the purposes for which it was collected or a directly related purpose.
We may disclose personal information collected to:
- the Long Service Corporation or the Department of Customer Service to assess your eligibility and administer the program
- the Long Service Corporation for the purposes of referring case escalations
- a business search tool, on the Service NSW website, to publish your business information, including business name, address, ABN and registration status.
- public/private entities (including the Document Verification Service) in order to verify the information you provide in support of your application or to request additional information
- the Australian Business Register, Australian Securities and Investment Commission and the NSW incorporated Associations Register to verify your business
- other NSW Government agencies, or other states, territories and/or the Commonwealth for the purposes of recognising eligible work and long service leave payments recorded in another state or territory, verifying the information you provide or requesting additional information.
- with your consent, we may share your details with an authorised representative such as a tax agent for the purposes of enabling them to perform administrative tasks on your behalf.
Service NSW maintains and uses information about you for our internal administrative purposes, including for the purpose of interacting with you.
Your application will be saved as you go. If you do not complete the application, Service NSW will delete any information collected in partially completed applications after 14 days.
We will not disclose your information to anybody else unless we are authorised or permitted to do so by law or where you have given consent. For more information, see our Privacy Statement.
How you can access and update your information
You can access or update the personal information contained in your Service NSW Business Profile and MyAccount by logging into your Account. You may ask for access to the information Service NSW hold about you at any time and request to update, correct or amend your personal information by contacting Service NSW.
