Update to CSI scheme service return timeframes
We’d like to share an important update regarding the Community Services Industry (CSI) portable long service leave scheme. This update includes revised timeframes for submitting service returns.
Since the commencement of the scheme, we’ve been working closely with the NSW Government, employers, unions and industry representatives to support a smooth and effective implementation. This collaboration has focused on ensuring the scheme is practical, sustainable and responsive to the needs of the sector.
To ensure sector feedback is fully considered and to support readiness for the initial service return period, additional time has been provided before service returns commence.
Revised key dates
- Service returns commence: 29 April 2026
- Service return period (covering 1 July 2025 – 31 March 2026): 29 April – 13 May 2026
- Deadline for initial levy contributions: 31 May 2026
We’ll continue to work closely with the NSW Government and the sector to support the successful rollout of the scheme and its long-term objectives.
