LSC hosts Small Business Month information session for Community Services
As part of NSW Small Business Month, the Long Service Corporation (LSC) partnered with the Western Sydney Community Forum to host an information session on the Community Services Portable Long Service Leave Scheme.
The session brought together community service organisations across Greater Western Sydney to learn more about the scheme and how it supports fair and sustainable employment across the sector.
The session featured expert speakers from NSW Industrial Relations, the NSW Small Business Commission, Accounting for Good, and LSC. Together, the panel provided practical insights into how the new legislation impacts operations, compliance, and workforce planning for community service providers.
Participants also had the opportunity to have their questions answered directly by policy and industry experts, helping organisations better understand their obligations and the benefits of the scheme for both employers and workers.
Jess and Michela from the Community Services Stakeholder Engagement team at LSC, have been working closely with partner agencies over recent months to ensure a smooth rollout of the scheme. “Community service organisations play a vital role in supporting our communities,” said an LSC spokesperson. “We’re proud to work alongside our partners to help employers and workers navigate these changes with confidence.”
The event was a great success, reflecting the strong collaboration between LSC, government partners, and the community services sector, all working towards making long service leave fair and accessible for everyone.
